Remember:   I remember mailing the letter. (I have a memory now of a past action)
                     I remembered to mail the letter. (Obligation: I had to do and I did. I didn’t forget)
Forget:     I won’t forget skiing in Vancouver. (I will always have a memory of a past action)
                I forgot to buy the milk. (Something I had to do, but forgot to do)
Stop:    I stopped drinking coffee. (I gave up this habit)
            I stopped to drink coffee. (I stopping doing something else in order to have a cup of coffee)
Regret: I regret dropping out of school. (A mistake in the past that I can’t change)
            I regret to inform you that I can’t help you. (A formal way to say sorry/deliver bad news)
