Residents of Canton, Ohio, were surprised yesterday to find that City Hall had been painted yellow during the night. Mayor Joan Carter commented/remarked/stated/, "We don't know who did it or how it happened. We are looking for the mysterious painter now. But," she added/admitted, laughing, "it's a nice color. I like it better than gray."
Not all of the town residents agree. Gavin Wang, a dentist, complained/commented/remarked/stated/suggested/demanded, "I think it's terrible. Whoever did this should be punished."
"Who did such a thing?" asked/inquired Barbara Koh, a grocery store owner. "No building is safe anymore, she added/commented/stated/remarked. "Where were the police?" she inquired/asked.
Police officer Mark Morris answered/responded, "We don't have any clues, but we're doing our best." He added/explained that he had a detective working on the case.
Hadas Bori, 6 years old, was very happy to see the brightly colored building on her way to school. "It's pretty!" she exclaimed. "I want someone to paint my school building the same color," she added/admitted/stated/suggested.
